Laudate Dominum - W.A. Mozart/N. Telfer - SATB (Soprano Solo)
Mozart composed "Laudate Dominum" in the 1780 for soloist, choir, and small orchestra. It was an unhappy time in Mozart's life because his employment was uncertain, his mother had died, and he had been rejected by the woman he loved. Yet he composed this music with a mixture of serenity and rapture.
Mozart was looking forward to working on his next opera, Idomeneo, and, although "Laudate Dominum" was composed for the church, it is in the style of an operatic aria.
